DAB's emojis,,

So, I'm having a little bit of trouble on my keyboard . . . I just inserted a DAB custom emoji, as you can see, but I can't seem to make it work on a quick reply (if that's the only thing I can use). I'm on mobile, and I'm new to proboards, so I'm not sure how this works. All help will be greatly appreciated !

Hmmm, that's an interesting issue. I'm pretty sure emoticons are hard coded to replace if you type in the corresponding face no matter what the platform you are using ": )" =   (Take out the space in the smiley face)

Maybe your phone is trying to auto correct when you type in?  I think all emoticons have colons for eyes instead of equals if that may be a problem.  I always just use the emoticon button up top because I can't remember what they all are

Hello there Baron! I also use proboards from mobile frequently, so I took a look to see what might be the problem. It could be how your phone displays emoji's, in which your phone's browser will use your phone's default emoji rather than the website specific ones DAB uses. If you could, I would recommend going to the home page on your mobile device, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, and there should be a clickable bit of text below the chat box that reads 'Desktop.' This will display the site in the Desktop mode rather than the mobile one, and it may show the emotes correctly if it's your device defaulting to the ones on your phone.

I took a look at the different proboard 'themes' to make sure none of the emotes were broken, and only one was broken for a non-default theme (and I fixed that) so that could also resolve the issues!

Also, while replying, if you type out the emote (like tyoing :)), it will show as text while typing instead of as the icon. When you submit your post, it will change over to the icon rather than text. If you're not doing quick reply and manually select from the dropdown, it will show the icon rather than the text. Either way, the icon will show once the post has been sent/made, no worries!

Lastly, like Celebes mentioned, all DAB emotes uses colons instead of equals signs as eyes, and contain no spaces. For example, if you want to use   and type : ) or =) instead of :) then the icon will not show once you have posted.

Thanks for the info guys! I'll have to start using this on Chrome because that's the only app that works with turning the site into desktop mode sadly ಥ_ಥ
