**Willow stood there face in a wicked smile as her adversitary was disarmed. All that came to an end as Brooky rushed her. She tried to use the staff to stop Brooky but it was too late.**
CRUNCH
**Willow was knocked back, one half of the staff in her hand,Rapier in the other, tumbling into the waters of the swamp. She quickly summed up the situation with the conclusion of a broken staff. Holding her breath, She swam for a nearby island.**

*Brooky froze for a moment as she heard the loud crunch. For a sickening moment she almost thought that one of them had broken a bone in the impact. However, as the two of them barrelled into water, she just caught sight of one half of her staff lying on the bank before she dipped beneath the surface. Underneath the murky water, Brooky was just able to make out Willow swimming away from her with her paws still clutching weapons. It seemed that Brooky would need to rearm herself if she wanted to continue the bout. Resolving herself into this action, she struck out for the bank, hoisting herself out of the water and scrambling over to where the bottom half of her staff lay.
She snatched up the broken wood and hefted it, it would still make do as a club of sorts. Turning back out to the water she scanned it for any sign of Willow, muttering to herself* C'mon, where are ya?

**Willow was in a harsh position. After evading a few pike shoals she had reached one of her javelin stores. Hauling her dripping form onto the island was hard, but a supply of javelins was worth the swim. Distantly she could hear Brooky's taunt and threw a javelin in the direction of the sound. Sending back her own insult she cried.**
Come at me? well, ye betta get me!

*The faint hiss of a projectile alerted Brooky's instincts. She immediately dropped to the ground and rolled to the side. THUNK The javelin embedded itself into the ground about a foot away from her prone position. The otter grimaced at this new danger. Evidently Willow had been more prepared than expected if she had access to even more weapons. Brooky heard the other otter's cry in the distance. She picked herself up, and moved swiftly over to the javelin, ripping it out of the ground and rearming herself. Feeling a little better about the situation she darted into whatever cover she could find. She cupped a paw around her mouth.*
I'd get ye if y'd dare to poke yer muzzle out!
*She tried to keep herself covered. It was a dangerous move to draw attention to herself, but she hoped that perhaps Willow would respond with a few more javelins. As long as Brooky kept on moving between her calls then she should avoid being struck by the weapons, and the whole scheme gave her a chance to get more weapons for herself.*

**Willow faintly heard Brooky's taunt. Though it was unwise to give Brooky weapons, Willow threw another javelin towards the sound of Brooky's taunt. Of course Brooky could've moved on to a different position, though Willow would rather be safe than sorry. Gripping her Rapier, along with the snapped part of Brooky's staff, She dived into the murky waters of the swamp. That way, Brooky would be alerted of her former position, though by then, Willow would be long gone.
After a minute of evading a rather hungry eel, Willow found herself on another of her secret Javelin stashes. She noted that she had exactly seven of the stashes, with the fact that one of her stashes was dangerously close to where Brooky was. Swallowing hard, Willow dropped her makeshift club in favor of a javelin, and scoured the swamp for any signs of Brooky.

*According to her plan, Brooky watched as another javelin sailed through the air, burying itself into the ground where she had been stood moments before. Noting its position Brooky turned her attention back out to her surroundings. Hoping to catch a sound of Willow. She had a vague idea of her opponent's direction thanks to the javelin trajectories, but she wasn't about to start launching her own ranged attack. Instead, the otter began to stalk along through the marshland. Her sharp senses were in full force, and her ears twitched as her eyes darted in all directions.
A sudden, but small, splash caused her to whirl around, javelin gripped firmly in her paws and at the ready. Perhaps Willow had fancied her chances better in the water? Or was it a carefully made distraction? She could have simply thrown something into the water. Weighing up the situation, Brooky grinned to herself. Even if Willow hadn't thought of the distraction, she could still try and use it to her advantage. Searching for a sizeable enough clump of earth to make a significant splash, Brooky tossed it into the water. Immediately she began to move as stealthily as possible in the other direction, keeping her eyes out for any response to her distraction.*

** Willow heard the small splash as it echoed through the swamp. She pondered if it was real, or a mere distraction. But as the waters around a nearby island started to become murky with earth, Willow doubted that her chances of navigating the swamps would be easy. But as she saw a faint rustle in the opposite direction, she began to assume she knew Brooky's position. Hefting her weapons, She silently entered the waters and swam toward the sound.
Surprisingly it was a mere platoon of toads, which Willow put out of their misery. Shouldering her Rapier, She limped away from the unconscious amphibians and headed for the javelin stash that was close to Brooky. She found that stash but decided to hide, in case Brooky would arrive. She then considered the option of a Rush mat. With so many foliage covering the ground, there would be no way for Brooky to find out that the rush mat ever existed . Digging a pit, she stuck five javelins into it. She then covered the pit with leaves, vines and a clump of mud. Falling back to her hiding place, she prepared for Brooky's arrival.**
