Two of my favorite books by Brian are probably Taggerung and the Redwall Cookbook. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love all the Redwall books I've read so far, but these stand out the most to me. I love Taggerung because I think it's awesome the finally a good guy becomes the sort of "bad guy" that is actually liked by the leader of the vermin. I also like the Redwall Cookbook because you have the official recipes for the deliciously and lip-smackingly good sounding food at the feasts in the book.

Taggerung has a very special place in my heart, and started my otter obsession. I also think that I read the Long Patrol maybe 3x as much as any other Redwall book. You are cruel, though, making me pick two. Honorable mentions go to Outcast and Legend of Luke, both of which made me cry my eyes out at some point.

The Bellmaker has a spot in my heart, simply because it was the first one of the series I read properly. My other choice was Mossflower. I don't quite know why, but it's one of the stories that I always think of for quintessential Redwall.

The Legend of Luke is my go-to answer for favorite Redwall book. Honorable mentions go to about half of the series after that. XD Seriously: Mossflower, Redwall, Mattimeo, Taggerung, Triss, High Rhulain, Martin the Warrior, Mariel, and The Bellmaker get shout-outs in particular. And Outcast. And Pearls. And Lord Brocktree. And, uh... see what I mean? ^^;
...aw man, guys, this makes me want to reread them all. *wanders off to the book club thread*

I will forever love Mattimeo! My first dog was named Mattimeo because I was 11 and loved the character so so much. Our Matti passed away last year after 14 wonderful years with us, but he can still live on in a brave mouse every time I reread the book!
As far as plot goes though, I love Martin the Warrior. Heartbreaking? Sure. But awesome!

Mossflower is just classic. One for the first tales and it certainly stands the test of time. I love the wildcats so much.
Martin the Warrior is a nice epic story with a dash of tragedy.
I liked Triss too because Triss is an awesome character.
Shoutouts go to books where there are morally grey characters are vermin who turn good or vice versa. Taggerung, Outcast of Redwall, etc.

DABs only resident bunny. Been here since dirt. Honestly, I do love them all and I have read them all. They got me through a very difficult time.
