Sister Ambrosia was pacing back and forth in the Great Hall, a wooden broom gripped between both paws, while she stared Sister April down from across the room. The Great Hall was actually spotless, but old Sister Ambrosia always managed to find something that she thought needed cleaning, and never failed to gripe about it to others. It was always somebeast else's fault.
"You know," said the old white mouse, pushing her round spectacles even higher up on the bridge of her nose, "It was a foolish decision on the part of everybeast involved to let those young ones go parading out to Kotir. I was against it, but did anybeast listen to me?"
She paused in her sweeping for a moment, to lean dangerously close to April's face, and let out a booming "NO!"
It was no secret that the younger adults of the Abbey were currently out on some kind of 'quest' right now, a quest which most of the Redwallers thought would be a fun adventure. But where were they now? Probably stuck in some high tower somewhere, with the skeletons of years past hanging over them! Of course, the only one she trusted to keep everybeast safe was Celebes, but if he was hanging around the likes of Fyri and Stanwick, maybe they were all goofing off, risking their tails over something stupid... or quarreling.
And nobeast in the entire Abbey had seen Roach all day.
"It's been too long, if you ask me," Ambrosia huffed, dragging the broom in and out from under the nearest chair. "The sun's already going down. I wouldn't be surprised if something's got to them. Hm! Serves them right, too."

Tula hadn't meant to overhear, but honestly when Sister Ambrosia was shouting like that in the middle of The Great Hall, he supposed it wasn't his fault for hearing about it. The tall sinewy otter had been passing through on his way to the Cellar to purloin himself some strawberry fizz(What? He's allowed to have a sweet tooth!) , slowing his stride and tilting his head slightly at the somewhat comical sight, those rounded spectacles being shoved up right to the top of her nose bridge. He gave a deep chuckle, and headed on over.
He was confident enough in the young adults' ability to take care of themselves, but it would do no one any good if the older folk started to fret and worry over them, the things that panic and worry could do was something he didn't wish to have to deal with, and so he decided that he could at the very least try to comfort the old mouse, he had a sensible head on his shoulders after all, when he wasn't rolling around with the dibbuns, anyway. " I'm sure they're alright, marm. Celebes is a smart 'un. they're probably all havin' a grand ould time"
He said, lifting the chair up and out of the sisters way so she could clean underneath easier. Despite his words, the old sister was right; it Had been a very long time, he'd be stupid to completely dismiss her worries, and so he reached out , placing a large paw onto the mouse-sisters shoulder, charming smile given in hopes to reassure the fretting sister. He cast a sly wink toward Sister April, and then turned his attention back to Ambrosia., patting her shoulder gently as he spoke again "tell ya what, if nobeast 'ears from our adventurin' troupe once the sun's gone, i'll go down there m'self an' take a look, if'n it'll calm all your frettin'. sound good, Sister?"

Sister April was for the most part absorbed in looking over a scroll given her by Abbot Anon - some riddle in need of solving. Even lifting her feet without looking when Ambrosia had swept underneath her seat. Finally lifting her head, it was welcomed with the booming NO, and she had simply blinked some times, wriggled her nose, and calmly removed her reading glasses before tucking both them and the scroll into a pouch attached to her belt chatelaine. (If there was anybeast who had a surprisingly high tolerance for Sister Ambrosia, that was the placid Sister April. Some suspected it was the longevity she'd known the sister, others believed it was the goodnature of tranquil Sister April who saw the good in everybeast.)
Of course she was equally increasingly worried for the adventurers with each hour's pass. Come to think of it, Jasmine and Frost weren't anywhere to be seen either; perhaps they were with Roach.
"Now, now, Sister Ambrosia." she remarked before grinning at Tula's direction, smiling and tilting her head in greeting, and mouthing a 'thank you'.
With the light aid of her walking stick the seasoned grey churchmouse arose, stretched, and walked across the Great Hall's expanse to join the group. "While I had my reservations too, Tula's right. Indeed Celebes is with them, and we know where they are in case of rescue. I'm sure Martin's ghost is keeping good watch on them too." A beat, as a bit of a cheeky grin appeared on the mouse's face just to watch Ambrosia's expression, "Surely, they wouldn't have anything to worry about Queen Tsarmina's ghost, or, oh my! not the Gloomer!" and just as quickly as it had appeared it quickly disappeared to an innocent grin.
"And what noble chivalry! Ah, if I were but a few seasons younger I'd join you, Tula. -- What of it, perhaps you should like to come too, Ambrosia?" carefully not to play with a tinder box the mouse added a jovial grin before calming, "Of course, I say this in earnest lightheartedness~"

Ambrosia had just about seemed satisfied with Tula's reassurance, nodding along, when Sister April had to go and start acting cheeky. The Gloomer? The old mouse gasped and put her hands on her hips, and stopped sweeping entirely. "Of course I should not like to come!" she spluttered, sticking her nose even higher in the air (if that was even possible). They had a point; they knew where the expedition party was in case of need for rescue. But still! Ambrosia wasn't so sure she believed in ghosts, in spite of how integral Martin's was to Redwall's history. If they were real, would Martin's ghost even reach that far beyond Abbey walls in order to be able to defend them? "Not that they deserve much defending anyway, the blighters," she added under her breath. Bespectacled eyes drifted between the other two Woodlanders, and at last she let out a sigh, shook her head, and seated herself in the chair Tula had previously pulled aside for her. "What, pray tell, would we do if you got into trouble out there, Tula?" she interrogated, and craned her neck to stare him square in the face, massaging her fingers into the side of her forehead. "One otter would not stand a chance against something that was keeping all three of them from getting home." After she spoke, she made a vague, frustrated gesture in April's direction that seemed like it was saying, "can you believe him?"
"Try as you might, though. Huh! You won't see me stopping you."

"nonsence, April, Marm. youre still as spry as a mousemaid, why im sure ou could give me a run f'my acorns if you tried!" Tula would give ahearty laugh as Ambrosias snout stuck up into the air, shaking his head at the fretful mouse. Surely the young'uns wouldnt be in much trouble in the old ruins, it wasnt as if any vermin lived there, nor was it as though the ghosts or spirits of any such beasts could really do much harm. if anything, he would merely be going to guide them back home in the more likely event of them being lost. "Dont you worry about ol' Tula, Marm. i can fight well enough to get the rascals home, 'specially if someone gets me some hotroot stew goin, Hahah!!"
The jovial otter laughed lightly, grasping Sister Ambrosias paws to stand and lead her in a merry little dance about, if only to lighten her spirits a tad; tail giving a playful thud against the floor. While the old mouse sister seemed to doubt his ability, in all seriousness Tula did know going alone wasnt the brightest idea, he'd likely have to take another beast or two with him, just in case he needed to send message home or in the unlikely event of a fight. He kept those thoughts to himself, though, releaisng Ambrosia form the dance a mere moment after it started. "come, now. cheer up, sister. all will be well. At most the young'in's might just get a little turned around! aint nothin to worry yer pretty head about."
a smooth wink, and a courtious little bow to the mouse, plucking one of the flowers residing in the flowercrown giften unto him by the dibbuns earlier that day, one smooth motion had the little geranium stem tucked behind ambrosias ear.

April couldn't help but grin at her fellow sister's indeed priceless reaction. Of course, she was always a friend to every abbey beast - Sister Ambrosia was no exception - but to her likes, well perhaps she couldn't resist the occasional jaunt. ... and show pacific deference when the taunts when too far. (Perhaps the Gloomer was a tad too much.) "Now, now, Sister, there's no need to be indelicate. The young blighters are quite worthy."
Ambrosia, please, April held back a laugh to Ambrosia's frustrated gesture, shrugging & being amenable to her point but clearly not looking to take sides, "At least consider sparing him a portion of his pride." she wordlessly mused back.
Only then, the silver mouse found herself brought into a gale of laughter from Tula, "Ohoho! Tut, Tula!" the sister raised a finger in playful as though scolding him, "You best not give me any ideas, or I may be just so inclined to take you up on it, and your bodacious rescue mission. Besides, you should know that both brains and brawn are equally mighty." Ah, what a good laugh. And what more at the sight of Tula & Sister Ambrosia dancing! She commended Tula's bravery, and it delighted her to see Ambrosia outside of her comfort zone for a change. April laughed and laughed, tapping her walking stick to the absent music's beat, and then applauded the duo. "Jolly good!"
