Woah I'm making art again??? I mean I prpbably should if I'm gonna gleefully spend $7 a marker on Copics. Did some art of Riki and ended up going overboard with it and having 3 different versions, so you guys get photos of all 3 and their supplies, in case anyone was curious. ^^;
The inital sketch I did just out on the patio, then inked. Paper is just from a Canson Mixed Media pad. Supplies used include: Pilot Color Eno mechanical pencil (red), Copic Gasenfude brush pen, Sakura Micron pen in size 01, and a Uni Posca white paint pen for cleaning up and the eye highlights!
Colored pencil version to figure out how I wanted my colors. I used a cheapo lightbox to transfer onto some Strathmore 400 series Toned Grey paper, since it's less textured so the pencils would look cleaner. Supplies used include: Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils, a Tombow calligraphy pen, and just a random mechanical pencil in my bag, lol.
And the one I spent WAY too much time on. Paper used here is just some Master's Touch watercolor paper, so I could use the lightbox to easily transfer my sketch to it (using a watercolor block would have made that more difficult). And the supplies used! Supplies used include: Blick Liquid Frisket masking fluid (which tore my paper! :<), Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors (+ the Pearl Color set for shimmer), Posca White paint pen, Copic Gasenfude Brush Pen, Uniball Signo white gel pen, another random pencil at my desk, Windsor and Newton black India ink, and a Deleter dip pen (using a G nib). Not shown are a blessed eraser and my brushes because they're just normal round brushes and honest they look kinda sad. And some random washi tape to get the edges white and keep the Paper from buckling. ^^;
And just for fun, a link to a short clip of me tilting the finished watercolor piece, to show the bits I used the pearlesent paint on. i.imgur.com/h0m5s1K.gifv

Finally done with the new Crys art! Replacing my avatar after uhhh... 11 years??
Did it in ProCreate, which saves your piece as a speedpaint as you go, so working on getting that to a level that’s presentable, lol!
Speedpaint done! You guys can take a look here: youtu.be/ZTEMPoVIuQ0

Wow, that looks fantastic Crystal! Just the right amount of detail to make the drawing filled out without being cluttered.
How do you like ProCreate? I use Krita because it's free, but always looking at other options.

Thank you! I MAYBE went overboard on the fluff, but... I call her a marshmallow for a reason! I use ProCreate because of it being on theviPad, and works incredibly well with the Apple Pencil. Any shakiness in the libework is entirely me, not the app stuttering! ProCreate is fairly cheap for as much power as it has! I have to Google something every now and then because most things work with some sort of touch controls rather than a button I can tap for it, but it generally works smooth as silk. If you're looking about desktop applications, I have a regular pad tablet for my PC, but working at it for extended periods makes my wrist ache, so if I don't need to power I opt for the iPad. If you like to illustrate more than digitally paint, I recommend FireAlpaca as a free program! To me, Krita just has too many settings to fiddle with and winds up distracting me more than helping. ^^; Krita seems great for actual digital painting though!

They both look really cool Crystal! It's also cool having a breakdown of what you did and what you're using. I'm definitely going to check out that speedpaint!

Thank you! Maybe I'll have to learn how to do video editing! Lol
I've started on a Kaede portrait as well (at my boyfriend's request, he thinks she's cute?? I don't get it), so maybe I'll have another chance at making a video of I do it digitally!

Oh my goodness(Or lack there of) These are so amazing!! You're so good at highlights! Which I always forget, or do badly, so I can really respect how well you do it!! Your art style is also very cute, and I love all the detail you put into your backgrounds and fur! I honestly wish I could be bothered. XD Do you draw things other than dogos? Is this too many questions? (Is so, sorryyy, just tell me to hush up, and I will ) Over all amazing job!

A perfect fine amount of questions!!
Highlights and shadows are so odd!! In a more simplified art style like this, I'm never sure how much to do. The piece done with watercolors, I can kinda get away with it since the paint texture sort of 'pools' in areas with messier brush strokes, or I can lift the paint to make things lighter (especially with a more densely pigmented/thick paint; Japanese watercolors are almost like gouache!). Makes a nice texture! In digital form, I never really know where to put them and still have things feel... soft? (Qnd so I went wild with all the fluff!)
Honestly, I had a good time with all the fur; especially digitally, long, curved brush strokes are fun to do! I can easily spend way too much time on that sort of thing, lol. I can't imagine trying to animate something like that though, so I would have to simplify much, much more if I ever wanted to animate; Crys is a puffball and would be a nightmare to animate.
I do other stuff too! All my characters on DAB are foxes, so not a whole lot of variety here, but in other places I've had other species. I've also been spending an absurd amount of time working on some sketches and paintings of some of my Dungeons and Dragons characters and trying to finalize their designs; I sometimes get enlisted as a guest for games my friends are running, so my previous characters make cameos frequently enough that I want to have a visual for their groups. And other writing projects outside of DAB; I'm working on illustrating an important scene from thar, though progress is horrendously slow for me, lol. So humans and Fantasy Human-esque things too!
