This is a great idea Celebes. I’d suggest everyone RPing with at least 2 characters, one for the home front, and one for the quest. It would be fun developing the newly edited Thorn by sending him on this quest, and I’m all for this one. One thing though, what about urban explorers?

I wonder if it might be best to keep everything in one setting, as it were -- that is, if we wanted to RP the folks on the home front, I think it would be best as a separate thread. Having too many characters/situations per RPer tends to slow things down quite a bit, so even that might be a bit much given the pace of most of our quests have moved at lately. It's usually best to start simple and if it's going well and there's enough interest, to add the complexity later.
As for Urban Explorers, it depends if we want to start it up again or retire it. I think the best way to pick it up again would be to do a time skip so we can leave the cave (perhaps from another route to get us into the explorable ruins) after the rain and get into the actual urban exploring bit. Or, if we have more energy around this idea, we could leave Urban Explorers on hold and let this take its place for the time being. Personally, I can't commit to more than one RP right now, so I'd vote for doing one or the other instead of trying to do both simultaneously. Thoughts?

@aqua Having that certain monthly hare of yours join to clash with this blinkin' traitor sounds like a fun idea, wot. It would certainly give the villain team a level of personal connection. And I think that it would be best to keep the story focused on one front as well. Splitting the story requires quite a bit more planning, especially if we were to try and get them to tie together in a reasonable way. Let's plan on planning for one.
Regarding Urban Explorers, I'm a bit hesitant to go forward with that one without Jasmine, just because it was her initiative. Additionally, it's been a fair bit since we've updated that one, and at least I have kind of forgotten what my ideas for my character were going to be. My (biased) vote would be to start with something fresh, since that seems to be when we have the most energy.

+1 for starting simple and adding complexities later if at all. Just as long as the simple stuff we come up with is strong enough to remain interesting I'd vote for tabling Urban Explorer's for now. It's a good idea and something we can always bring back in one form or another if we'd like to revive it. For now, I'm more interested in this idea.

I have ideas! Adventure on the High Seas! Haven't you always wanted to roleplay a dashing swashbuckler or daring pirate captain? Do you have a yearning to search for buried treasure or find yourself caught in an intense cannon barrage to the death?! There is a rumor that an ancient kraken lives out there... Do you have what it takes to take on the beast?Essentially, it's a high-fantasy pirate roleplay, but the twist is that it's taking place entirely in our dibbun's imaginations on the Abbey Pond. How deeply we want to delve into the fantasy is up to us. Are there character breaks galore? Is the pretending part revealed by how ridiculous the RP gets? I don't know exactly how it looks but I thought it could be a fun look into how the dibbuns use the pond to play. Um... Okay I actually only have one idea for now. There's also always the tried and true Kitchen Raid that promises endless fun.

Other ideas also welcome! This is just what my sleep-addled brain came up with last night.

I'm always down for a good imagination fest, those always give plenty to write about whether it be in or out of the dibbuns head! And of course, being on a lake, Celebes will be able to show off his natural otter superiority.

Are we thinking a dibbun RP or an adult RP? Dibbun RPs doesn't need to be as complex, since, well, kiddos don't need a fully developed motivation to do things; adult RP, on the other hand, has the higher stakes.
Some quick ideas I rattled off to Zeke (adding me on Discord means he can't escape me, and I never silence!!): - Dibbun RP that meets in the middle: Pulling the trope of 'bunch of kids playing some type of role-playing game'. Potential for some creative childishness, with artificial stakes. Could do posts describing their in game actions, and asides for everyone's dibbun characters and their table chatter/table chaos. Could also be amusing cause could introduce some very silly non-Redwall tropes, but it's still feasibly in character because it's all pretend. - Another split down the middle: pull the good old 'Time is a construct and isn't real, character ages don't matter' DAB trope. Some folks playing adult characters are supervising dibbun field trip, folks playing dibbun characters just having the time of their lives. Some peril presents itself, to the alarm of adult characters. (Potentially dibbun characters don't notice said peril, for comedic effect.) - Good old adult RP of 'somewhere/Some thing in Redwall canon is in danger, save it.' Like the old Floret thread or some such. Idk, maybe Badger Lord is injured, everyone shows up to help defend the old Fire Mountain. - Dibbun RP in which the kiddos are given a task by a Sister or something. They're put in charge of making the cake for the nameday feast (probably just to keep them busy, honestly), and everybody has to work together to make sure it doesn't go horribly. Or to ensure it goes terribly, if they decide to pull a giant prank. Or some sort of Great British Bakeoff spoof, where everyone makes their own cakes out of things they find around the Abbey. (Can anyone tell I'm baking bread currently??)

Great ideas Crystal! I really like that last one with a bake off, and is a new way to use a kitchen besides raiding it or washings its pans. Who knew a kitchen could be used for anything else? I'd imagine there'd be a race to get ingredients up precipitous cabinets, debates about getting the perfect measurement, and who gets to lick the spoon, assuming its covered in chocolate. I'm always down for an adult RP as well, and even a quest some day if we can ever scrape together enough ambition.

Ooh I really like that role-playing game idea as well, Crystal.
A baking themed RP sounds like a good lowkey but also fun and potential filled RP to jump back into things with.

I'm sort've very into this Great Redwall Bake-Off idea. But can also be swayed to post about pirates, in a lighter tone than my usual pirate content xD
I'm also always down to plan out the plot for an elaborately complicated quest. My general quest advice is to set it at a location - either the Abbey (perhaps protecting it, or solving a mystery), or at another location (retrieving something, liberating something). Quest RPs can lose momentum and die when we're walking somewhere, unless Action happens to us, because it becomes unwieldy to take turns narrating and trying to move us forward (literally) down a road. Shared action in a pre-established location tends to be easier.

Just to check while I'm working on spar posts (yeah, multiple, lol): Are we doing a joint cake baking, of everyone working together on one large, proper cake, or are we wanting to do a cooking contest of all the dibbuns trying to make their own treats?
Edit: 'Dibbuns Against Baking' is such a hilariously cute title, my goodness. I didn't even notice my title potential with the idea and it's a shame!

What if the elders tasked the dibbuns to bake one thing collectively, and the inevitable squabble over how to do it right results in us splitting up and declaring it a competition?

I kind of left it open depending on what people wanna do, but Zeke's premise is what I had in mind the most.
