Sounds good! We've got the Winter Shenanigans still going relatively strong for the script side of things, seems like a good time as ever to push our luck and try to get some good prose RP going.

Since we haven't used this treasure of a thread since that gem of a roleplay "Picnic at St. Ninians", I thought I would post a few ideas here. It seems to be the time of year where most of us are busy, but wouldn't it be grand if we could squeeze in a lite thread before summer questing season rolls in? Dibbun PlotsDown with Dishes! - Old Grubber the kitchenhog has taken ill, and how are we going to get all these feasting dishes washed now? Why, use the Dibbuns of course! That raw pent-up energy outta be perfect for scouring burnt hazelnut-cream-plum-flan-barley-root-tart from the pans! And we don't even have to worry 'bout giving them a bath later, their sure to fall in the sink a time or two! The only ones who seem to be objecting are the Dibbuns, but they just don't know what's best for them. Plot starts with a dibbun revolt, ends when they realized that all their rebellion earned them was the chance to eat off dirty plates for dinner.
Abbey School - Brother Silas said he would be back in just a moment, but its been more than that. He seriously couldn't expect a gatehouse full of dibbuns to be content practicing writing their "c"s for long. The only question is who will stay in their seats, and who will make the most of having the class to themselves. Plot starts eight minutes after Silas has left, and ends when either he comes back or when the gatehouse burns down.Adult Plots Rivalry by Proxy - A glorious spring day it is, just the kind that beasts need to have an excuse for feast! Well, the Ninian's feast was already on the calendar, so why not move it up a week? The Dibbuns certainly didn't argue, this season's scavenger hunt was sure to be the best one yet. Dibbuns with team kerchiefs red and blue will run about the church grounds, each striving to outdo the other. But what happens if the responsible grownbeasts monitoring the teams become a little too invested in seeing that their team wins? Or perhaps, become invested in making sure the other grownbeast's dibbuns don't win? Plot starts with one of the adult characters getting caught giving their team a clue, and ends when every says sorry and forever forgive each other. Hopefully. Capture the Standard! - A vermin hoard just drove into Mossflower woods and parked itself in front of Redwall for a good ole' classic siege. Some weeks in, our heroes decide to steal out of the Abbey for a morale raising raid to steal the vermin chief's prized banner. Of course, they'll have to do it during the day, so the dumbfounded hoard can see their pilfered pendant displayed by the enemy as soon as possible. Plot would start just outside the wall, and end the captured standard is proudly waving over the ramparts.I'd be happy exploring any of these ideas if they garner some interest. I think they can all be reasonably done with a small (2-3) or large (4+) group, and hopefully each can serve to make a short to medium length plot. If you'd be so kind to lemme know your thoughts, thanks for reading!

I like the idea of a lite RP right about now, since it seems we're low on activity but I think having an easy/low effort RP would make it easier for us to get a bit of posting in. Thanks for getting this up, Celebes!
Dibbun Plots - I prefer the sounds of the Dishes/Kitchen idea. Sounds like a good opportunity for some chaos - I can see a lot of broken dishes, falling in sinks, etc. It'd be easy and fun for us to write.
Adult Plots - Really like the "Rivalry by Proxy" plot. If I understand correctly, it's a cool twist on playing our characters as adults, but supervising dibbuns. It's not a scenario I think we've ever written our characters in before, so it'd be a great chance to see what they're like when they're the ones in the responsible position. Potential for double rivalries too? I think this has a lot of potential.
As for whether we choose dibbun vs. adult, I'm pretty indifferent. I'd be down to do either one. I don't have tons of time on my hands right now, but if someone were to get this started I'd do my best to get in a post at least once a week. Don't know what others think, but maybe get this started in the next couple weeks if possible?

As far as the "Rivalry by proxy" goes, would dibbun participants would be up for anyone to control, or would they be split under control of the different teams? So if Burfle and Celebes supervise Blue team and Riv and Aqua take Red, do me and Celebes control the actions of the Blue team dibbuns?

@ Riv Yeah, I think the dishes plot would be nice and clean. Easy to drop in and out of if need be, and plenty of things to write about. The proxy plot is probably what I'd choose out of those two adult plots, though it's probably a bit more complex. Though not as complex as trying to steal a pillowcase while babysitting Isaiah to the infirmary and back @ Burfle I think that that is how I was picturing it. Our characters would be the focus of what we are writing with the dibbun teams being NPCs under the supervisor's control. I think that as long as we all write our dibbuns with about the same amount of competence, it would mainly be the actions of our characters driving the story along. Here's an example of what I'm thinking: Celebes gritted his teeth. That was the fourth time that the mousemaid Posy had dawdled on past the curtain. The clue had been clear enough, Celebes had figured it out almost as soon as he had helped Fogs read it aloud. "To find where the treasure might hide, let the daylight fill the inside." A simple verse. One that he would have had had not problem with were he still there age. It wasn't as if this was some kind of clue trail left by a poetic abbess in days of yore, this was a couplet rushed out the night before when the day of the picnic changed! Golly. He knew he was being rather hard on the bunch, inwardly anyway. For that, he had tried to keep a winning grin plastered on his face. But his supportive smile wasn't enough, not with the Reds this far ahead. Not when he had mole twins standing by the church door, arguing about the best way to "botl'r sunshoine". Celebes sighed. He couldn't let his Blues get swept. It would break their dibbun hearts. Without a break in his smile, he reached out a paw to gently restrain the passing Posy, who looked to be wandering past the curtains for the fifth time.
**'ey...little missie. You think that you can pull open those drapes for me? It be a mite stale in here.**
Her compliance was shortly followed by a squeal of discovery. That was probably more than an example than you wanted, but maybe the point got across in there somewhere.

I like all of these ideas, however, I think it'd be nice to get one of the dibbun plots going first. They're a fair bit simpler and there's always the added bonus of it being the literal premise of this site. I would be interested in the rivalry by proxy plot, though maybe let's try and get one of the dibbun ones going at a reasonable pace first? The adult ones aren't as complex as say being blackmailed by Celebes and escorting him to steal a pillowcase, but we might want a little more energy to get those going than we might need for the dibbun plots.

I agree with Isaiah, a dibbun plot would probably be better if we are trying to keep things lite. We can always put an adult plot on the back burner for later. There are a few newer faces around who would probably like to introduce their dibbun characters as dibbuns. If we are just considering the two premises above, my vote would probably be for the Abbey School scenario, since it seems like a setting we haven't explored much. Well, I haven't anyway, you old fogeys have probably been through that setting a thousand times and know where all the hidden gatehouse spaz juice is stored. But I'd be fine doing either, like Riv said there's always fun in breaking dishes!

I would actually vote for the Abbey School scenario as well, only because we've done a kitchen raid in the past year and it might be nice to explore a fresh setting. However, either would work and I don't see why we couldn't do both at some point. I'd leave it up to you, Celebes, to make the final decision and start it up, considering the plots are your brain children. Once we have one going, it will be easier to go from there and gauge if we want more/what sort of RPs we want to throw up from there.

I'm also up for abbey school tbh. I can't remember the last time we had an rp set in there. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I can guarantee any posts from moi for the next little while, but come the end of May and into June I'll be making u for lost time.

Okay, agreed that having a dibbun RP might be best for right now. I'm up for the abbey school plot since everyone seems to like it. We'll definitely benefit from a new setting.
I'll try my best to get posts in as soon as this gets started up. Thanks for making this happen, Celebes!

I think that if you guys need another RP, a fishing trip in the abbey lake is my suggestion
Also can you use your main and your alt in RPs?

I don't think we've done anything like that in quite a while, so it could be fun to try. I don't know if we can right away since we have a few other RPs going right now -- if we have too many going at once, it gets hard for us to keep up with all of them. This might be a good one to start when one of our other prose or script RPs wraps up. I'd recommend starting with just one character per RP (so either your main or your alt), since two characters can be a lot to keep track of. Especially if you're using your alt for the first time, it's fun to get used to your alt on their own. That said, you are allowed to use more than one character in a single RP, and some people do like to in some RPs. It's really up to you and how you feel your characters will fit into the RP. And be sure to post a mini profile for your alt too!

Thanks aqua! I think That dangerous dibbuns is going to wrap up soon. also the roleplay (which is prose.) shall have a huge reference to That book with the white whale in It whitch I forgot the name (with the dibbuns hunting a giant pike and all.) once again Thanks for being the awesome admin you are.

Hoi everbeast! It's 2019 so how about a new Rp for the new year? I know we still have a few storylines kicking around that should be finished up, I am a particular fan of seeing how "A Swim to Remember" will turn out, but I always like that burst of energy that comes when something new is started. So whether we start tomorrow or next month one of these ideas or any of your own, I still think it's worth the discussion:
The Quest for Crystal Cave - Not a real quest, but it may feel like that to our dibbun explorers. A particularly daring picnic idea from some of the more adventurous abbey beasts has led the woodlanders to the nearby quarry, where a day of festive fun is expected. Since the venomous former occupants of the quarry have long since been driven out, it has been deemed safe to allow the dibbuns and any other beast that wants to explore around some of the nearby tunnels. Rumor has it that there is a cave filled with crystals that size of your paw, and a certain group of dibbuns are determined to find it.
Painted Paws - That old spare room we were going to put that new mole/vole family in? Yeah, what about it? It looks atrocious. It hasn't seen a fresh coat of paint in thirty seasons. Guh, I hate painting. Yeah, me too. But the Abbot says somebeast has to do it. Why can't painting still be as fun as when were dibbuns. Beats me. Wait-a-mo, why not just have the dibbuns do it? They'll do it way faster and enjoy it. Great idea, brother! What could possibly go wrong?
The Otter, the Mouse, and the Wardrobe - What happens when a group of dibbuns are trapped inside on a rainy day? Play hide-and-seek of course! One dibbun in particular finds herself finding more than what she bargained for when she goes to hide in a closet. Instead of finding flannel, she finds a forest, opening up into a mystical world of talking lions, eternal winter, and a malicious white mink. (Totally an original idea, don't know what you're thinking)

Man, I love these ideas Celebes! I think the only one I have a question about: Is the Otter, the Mouse and the Wardrobe reality, make-believe, or left up to our interpretation?
