Answer some of the questions below in the first person – that is, from the perspective of your character, as if somebeast were asking the question to your character, not to you the RPer. If your character would explain her answers a little, do so – for each question, think about the why or why not behind the answer. The goal of this activity is to develop your character's voice. Put yourself in your character's shoes. Would your character be willing or able to admit his prejudice? Her deepest fears? His hopes and dreams? Would it be hard for her to answer about her past, or would she love to tell about it? Why does he feel the way he does? Answer the questions as your character would speak, writing only your character's dialogue. You may include gestures or body language if necessary, but try to do so as little as possible. You may choose any age for your character to answer the questions; I recommend choosing one you use often in RPing, be that Dibbun or adult. Give substantial answers to at least three questions to earn the Interviewee achievement badge for your profile. If you'd like in-depth critique on this activity, feel free to ask for it. - Who is your family?
- Where do you call home?
- What do you do if/when you have a free day?
- Can you sing or dance? Would you do so in front of others?
- Is appearance, yours or others', important to you?
- Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert?
- What is your greatest strength?
- What is your worst flaw?
- Are you a leader or a follower?
- Are you a risk taker?
- What makes you laugh or smile?
- What annoys you or makes you angry?
- What pains you most?
- What causes you stress?
- How do you relax?
- Whom do you admire?
- Are you prejudiced in favor of or against any particular species or type of creature?
- What is your favorite season? Favorite sort of weather?
- What are your greatest hopes and dreams?
- What is your deepest fear?
- What is your strongest desire?
- What are you the most proud of?
- What is your most vivid Dibbunhood memory?
- What is your most beautiful memory?
- What part of your past do you wish you could erase? Would you do it?
- What is an experience or time in your life that has shaped who you are today?
- How do you define good?
- How do you define evil?
- How do you define love?
- If you were trapped on a desert island, what would you want with you?
- If you could meet one creature from the history of Mossflower or elsewhere, who would it be and why?
- If you could visit anywhere in Mossflower or beyond, where would it be and why?
- If you could be a different species of creature, which would it be? Why would you choose that one, and why would or wouldn't you change?
- If you were to choose a new name for yourself, what would it be? Why?
[Thanks to Dartpaw for the inspiration and some of the questions for this activity and to Crystal for additional questions.]

Hope this is still okay to post in... >_>
I've been working a lot with Kaede lately, so I feel like I can actually answer these now. So while I can't sleep, I'll whip up a few. :) As for these, I am going to assume she is neither frightened by nor friendly with the person asking, as it would change the tone more significantly. Let's go with 'an acquaintance she's met a few times.'
Who is your family? ... Were. I am alone. I do not remember my father; he left when I was very young to join the guard and never came back. As for my mother, she passed to the there-after during my training. She was growing older, and her shop caught fire while... while I was out. I was nearing adulthood, and lived in the ward until I left my homeland.
How do you dress? See for yourself. I am a simple creature; I do not yearn for the gaudy clothing of those well off, though I do not dress myself in rag either. A simple tunic is fine with me, and my cloak to... ah, keep the chill off. Many of my gender prefer dresses, but creatures in my line of work would be best advised to not wear a garment that prohibits their movement so.
What are your favorite things to do? Ah... This is something I have not considered in many, many moons... I stay quite busy... Hm. I am partial to a game of chess and a cup of tea, when the opportunity presents itself. I used to read often, but, unfortunately, I am a bit... limited... in my ability in the common language around here.
Are you choosy eater? What are your favorite and least favorite foods and drinks? Not particularly, no... I travel. I mostly eat what I can forage. It does not do well to be choosy when your choices are limited, you see. However, on the rare occasion that I find myself in towns, I do enjoy the heavy breads around here and... What is it called? The heated soup otters seem so fond of. It is rare to find something here with that level of spice. As for my least favorite... Were you aware that there are some creatures that eat others? Mostly rats and weasels, eating birds. Of course, otters eating fish... I cannot stomach it. It's been offered to me, but the smell alone makes me feel a bit ill.
Can you sing or dance? Would you do so in front of others? I... N-no, no, of course not. I have no talent in singing, and have very seldom taken a graceful step of dance in my life. No, I would rather leave it to those who excel at it. Though some creatures have said I do hum a bit on occasion, though I have never noticed it.
What makes you laugh or smile? ... Very rare occurrence... Kits. The last time I felt joyous, I think, was seeing kits out and about in town. They are a curious sort, too friendly and cheerful to be horribly wary of others. They do not hold the prejudices of their parents, which is nice. Little kits, with curious eyes and honest words. They are a treasure indeed.

OOC:Young adult Madrigal, because she's the one I'm foucusing on fleshing out at the moment, and totally because I'm not playing favourites...nope...nosiree indeedy...
Where do you call home? I've always considered Redwall my home. Ever since I was a young one I've lived here, and I wouldn't even think of leaving the beautiful library we have here. In fact I'd even say that the Library itself is my true home. All of the countless documents and sheaves of informative papers, aincient tomes and the recordings of many a past season; all catalogued neatly and kept in order by yours truly. I really believe that there is no more wonderful place than that.
What are your favorite things to do? I love reading, and the vast wealth of books that we have in the library are more than enough to satiate my desire. However, when I'm not amongst the literature, I enjoy spending time out in the garden, taking walks on the walltops, and admiring the various plant life that can be found in the grounds of our abbey.
Can you sing or dance? Would you do so in front of others? Well, I've never really tried singing too often. I'm much more of a listener than a performer, although sometimes I do join in with the general chorus for a popular song. On the occasions when dancing is taking place I'm usually helping to organise the festivities, although I've had the chance to sometimes twirl about on the grass.
What makes you laugh or smile? Dibbuns. Our little ones are always a source of some of the most simplistic, yet also the most insightful points of view. They really are a treasure, and their boundless curiosity and enthusiasm is amazing to behold.
What annoys you or makes you angry? Dibbuns. Unfortunately, with boundless energy comes an unbridled sense of mischief. I've been caught up in the young ones 'fun' far too many times. Oftentimes I am grudgingly impressed with their ingenuity, but I can't help but dispair that they choose to focus any skills they have to such troublesome goals rather than the pursuit of a good education...Still, young ones will be young ones. Although I'm not sure that I was ever that bad when I was their age.
Who do you admire? All of the elders have my utmost respect. Especially the a father abbot, who acts as the backbone of our community, although all of the brothers and sisters, and everybeast else contribute in their own special way. The cooks, the recorder, our infirmary healer, the bellringer. Thinking carefully about it though, I must say that sister Fern is one mouse that deserves absolute praise for her job. I inherited my duties as librarian from her, and I must say that I don't know how one so small and seemingly frail as her managed to keep the entire collection neat and tidy and all in order for as many seasons as she did without either going mad or ending up as stiff and creaky as the very floorboards themselves.
What are your deepest fears? I fear that anything should happen to the abbey. It is natural to care about your home, is it not? And I could not bear to see any harm befall it, or my many friends who reside here. The safety of our young ones in particular, with all the trouble they get into. They do make me worry sometimes, the little scamps... Also I've had rather a poor head for heights ever since I was little, although I've always left the climbing to the squirrelfolk anyway.

Uhmuhmuhm, doing a few for adult Riki. 'cause Ottie requested it. I'll try to do more later... Forgive me for the accent. It's a weird half peasant, half Hagrid lisp that my autocorrect hates. ;w;
Who is your family? Ah, goo' ques'in there, mate. My mum'n'da weren't aroun' much when I was a liddle bea't. Mercha'ts, you know? Have n't seen hide n'r hair o' 'em since I left th' Abbey. Was raised by th' Rose'aw lot. Crystal... We was thi'k as theives. And then, there's me'n'Mel, m' sister. She was a goo' liddle mate; broke m' 'eart to see 'er go like she did... Eh, 'cuse me f'r gettin' a bit teary... Well, now I got liddle Alex'nder... Foun' th' poor liddle kitt'n hidin' below decks one nigh' and Willowb'ine put me in charge o' him. Then 'gain, he ain't so tiny an'more; got a lady o' 'is own, an' I 'spect they got some liddle'uns of the'r own comin' soon. Be keen to have gran'babies, eh?
Where do you call home? Where'ver th' family is. When I was liddle, I woulda tol' ya th' Abbey's m' 'ome. Now, though, not s'much. Dunno if they'd wan' me there, ya see. 'ome's with the crew now, f'r the most part. I can get a drink wit' 'em, share a song wit' 'em, an' then be ready t' work at sunrise. Alex says I always got a place wit' 'im, always welcome, but I'm not ready to quit th' job quite yet. As long as th' Cap'n needs work done, I'm there for 'er.
What are your favorite things to do? Sharin' a drink with a mate. I've ne'er been too 'andy with th' stuff they tried to drill inta me back at Redwall, see. Singin' an' dancin' an' wooin' ladies an' tellin' tales ov'r a tankard... I can do that wit' th' best o' 'em. Mm, I'm also pretty keen on jus' 'avin' a relaxin' day wit' Alex an' his lot, when I can.
Can you sing or dance? Would you do so in front of others? Ha, can I sing'n'dance... Wit' th' best o' 'em! Th' Cap'n's partial to th' silly Long Pa'rol ditties, an' I picked 'em up pretty quick. As f'r dancin'... Well, I ain't th' best at it, 'course not, but m' mates say I'm lively at it. I take it as a goo' thin' 'cause th' lot o' 'em can't tell the differen'e 'atween their right paw an' their left.

Burfle, I don't think any of us are ever guilty of that... XD Madrigal's answers are clearly well thought-out before she gives them. The identical "Dibbuns" answer starting off both joy and annoyance cracked me up. Crys, no need to apologize for Riki's accent -- I really like it. It makes his speech very natural and in a way nonchalant, and it lends itself well to the character that his answers reveal. I've added the badge to both of your profiles.

More Kaede answers, because I once again can't sleep and I love this activity. Heh. Italics are my own little asides, since, well... Kaede is a character of subtleties and few words when she is not entirely comfortable. :P
What do you do if/when you have a free day? I, ah... I mostly tend to the troubles of the road? Patch my clothing, restock my herbs, such things as that. If I am certain I will have the time, I might make some tea while I look over maps. If I am around some sort of town, I suppose I might stop in for a bite I did not have to forage for myself.
Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert? (I assume she would not know what those terms meant, but if they were explained to her...) I see... Likely an introvert, then? I do not have much time for the idle back and fourth that company brings me... And the little I am around it, it quickly becomes tiresome.
Are you prejudiced in favor of or against any particular species? Species...? Ah, this is not a concept we have much of in my homeland; it is, however, something of great concern here. No, I think traits are not determined by a species, but each specific creature... Though... After a specific incident or two, uh, I would not say I am too fond of badgers? They are just a bit... large.
If you were trapped on a desert island, what would you want with you? I do not put much stock into... items. What I carry on my person now would do well enough for me there.
What is your most vivid Dibbunhood memory? Dibbu-... My kithood? Ah... Something that strikes me, actually, is... We had a very cold winter, I remember, when I was young. A f-friend and I, ah... Zane and I were carrying some things, and I dropped them in the snow... I just remember being so very jealous that he had mittens, when I had lost mine... Aha...
What part of your past do you wish you could erase? or even What is an experience or time in your life that has shaped who you are today? (Asked this question, Kaede would likely stiffen, and probably take on a slight air of panic. After a few moments and a deep breath or two, she'd compose herself, and replace the sudden fear with a mask of apathy.) We all have our secrets, and that is not one I would like to reveal to you.

Doing one of my own activities because I wanted a homework break. XD Here are some answers from young-ish adult Garnet.
Who is your family? My mum's Rhoda, and my dad's Barto. Aqua's my sister. ...Come to think of it, I'd practically count Sef as family at this point. Dunno what he'd think about that. He put up with me for long enough, so I oughta give him some credit. I guess I'd have to call him my uncle or something? Sure. That'll work.
Where do you call home? Mossflower. I suppose Redwall if you want to be specific. I'm not exactly "born and bred," but my family's there. Home's where the heart is, right?
Is appearance, yours or others', important to you? Not really. Hey, look at me. A squirrel in an otter's clothing. I look like a misfit if anybeast ever did, so who am I to judge any other beast by their appearance? Now that I think about it, I don't really put a whole lot of thought into it myself. Whatever's functional. Doesn't really matter what it looks like.
If you were trapped on a desert island, what would you want with you? Well, supplies so I could survive would be nice. Or just the tools for it if I could work with what's there. That'd be interesting. Anyway, you were asking about more specific things, right? Most of things that are important to me I keep on me. My dad's sling, mainly. I don't really need a lot to get by.
If you could visit anywhere in Mossflower or beyond, where would it be and why? ...You know, I really would like to visit my birth parents' graves just once. I mean, I never knew them, and I have my family, but... I guess I'd like to do them that courtesy, at least. It's pretty much impossible for me to find them, so it probably won't ever happen. But if I could, that's where I'd go.

Time to do some work with Crys, since I feel like I'm neglecting her... *pats* I don;t remember which ones I've answered in the past, so I'm just gonna pick some. Same thing as before with the italics! :3
Where do you call home? The Fort of course. I've stayed there since... Stars, it's been quite a few seasons. And, mmm... I guess when I'm not there, we have the outposts. So really, I guess any sort of Guardian territory is home to me. And the Abbey of course. I don't live there anymore, but it'll always hold a place in my heart.
What do you do if/when you have a free day? I don't really have many... I'll normally take the recruits and do some training drills if I have the chance. Maybe a spar or a patrol. Don't want my skills to dull... (Crystal would pause for a moment to think, and probably scowl.) If I'm absolutely forced to take a down day, I suppose I do like reading.
Can you sing or dance? Would you do so in front of others? Sing and da- Ha, empty night, no! Unless you mean dancing as in 'with a weapon in my paw,' I'm absolutely dreadful. Bad leg and all... The twirling and such gets a bit painful after a while. As for singing, ah... Mmm, I know a couple of them well enough, but... I never really learned. When they were teaching us to sing in Abbey school, I was normally sneaking outside to play at being in the Long Patrol, eh?
Is appearance, yours or others', important to you? Depends on what you mean. Most of the time, I'd say no. But there's all sorts of battles, and you need to wear your armor to any of them. If you and I were about to scrap, I'd look at how you look differently than if we were about to sign a treaty, eh? You have to know how to evoke a reaction from somebeast by just a glance.
Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert? ... A little of both? I mean, as much as I'd prefer to hole up somewhere and read a book and have some tea, that's not really in the cards for me, eh? So... Introvert by choice, extrovert by requirement?
What are your talents? Huh... I'm pretty good at keeping myself alive, I suppose. I mean, I can swing a sword and know my way around politics, but... That's less of a talent and more of was taught to me. (Though her words are humble, there is a faint prideful smirk on her face.)
What are your flaws? Oh, stars... Dangerous question. But... I've got a few. I can't swim, for one. Fur's too heavy and I sink like a stone. I'll leave that business to the otters and fish, thank you kindly. Mmm... I can't hold my drinks? Unless I've got a nice spot to sleep lined up, it's probably best for me to, ah, stick to tea... And then, er, I guess I'm a dreadful cook. I... got asked to boil something a while back and I burned it. I'm not sure how.
Do you consider yourself a leader? By necessity, not choice. I never wanted to be War Commander. But it was my duty, and when the time came, I had to step up and do my part. I'm only a 'leader' because those who back me's respect. The moment I lose that is the moment I'd gladly step down.
Are you a risk taker? Dreadfully so in my younger seasons, though I'd like to think it's calmed down a bit now... I had a tendency not to wait for backup, you see, and, well... I learned my lesson after running into things bigger than me a few times. (She absently runs a paw over her crippled hip, her eyes distant.)
What annoys you or makes you angry? Hrngh. Beasts that think that somebeast is worthless or a troublemaker because of their species. All they're doing is encouraging a stereotype... You tell some little 'vermin' babe they're no good, then you act shocked when they grow up to steal, when that's all they heard. Beasts like that should be ashamed. I'd spit on the lot of them.
What is your favorite season? Favorite sort of weather? Ah, I like midwinter, in the middle of a snowstorm. Makes me feel useful; while everyone else is wrapped in layers and suffering from the chill, it's not that bad to me, what with the thick fur and all. Everybeast that normally pokes fun at my pelt is suddenly very jealous...
If you could meet one creature from the history of Mossflower or elsewhere, who would it be and why? Besides Martin, you mean? Ah... Brocktree, the old Badger Lord I think. Used a sword like mine and ended up leading Salamandrastron... Would wanna learn from him, maybe get a couple goes in the arena, eh?
If you could visit anywhere in Mossflower or beyond, where would it be and why? The far north. Where there's no summer and nights last a long time. That's where Mam- er, that's where my mother is from. I want to see what it's like, rather than just the stories I got told about it as a babe. Maybe someday, eh?
Are you prejudiced in favor of or against any particular species? Of course not! Never! (Being asked this would probably mark the end of the conversation with Crystal. She would likely be so offended she would leave... Any more prodding and it would come to physical blows.)

OOC: Just a code for the text: Dibbun Brooky's answer Young adult Brooky's answer
IC: What's that? You have some questions for me? Of course I can spare the time. Eh? You already have some answers? When I was a dibbun? Oh, now I remember! Yes, I thought I recognised your face from somewhere. Well I wonder what I said back then, let’s see…
Who is your family?
My mum and dad live here with everybeast else at the Abbey. My mum is called Rockrose and my dad’s name is Rush. They were both in the ottercrew, but then they left when they wanted to live in a quiet place in Mossflower. I don’t have any brothers or sisters, but I do have an aunty Holly who is still in the ottercrew. She’s my mum’s sister, but she’s a bit like my own sister, because she’s a lot younger than my mum.
My parents both still live at the abbey. I keep in contact with the occasional letter, whenever our local messenger sparrow can spare the time. I keep in fleeting contact with my aunt too, although she seems to have a busy life as skipper of her own ottercrew. I also have my new family, my husband Garron and his own parents and siblings.
Where do you call home?
Redwall a’ course! Mummy and daddy said that when I was really young we all lived in Mossflower, but then we came to Redwall because they thought it was dangerous in the woods. Ah yes, I remember my mother telling me about their concerns. A roving band of thieves had been spotted in the woods, and whilst both of my parents could handle themselves, they felt that with me around it would be far safer for the family to live in the Abbey.
Now of course I live much further north with my own family and quite a different lifestyle to what I was used to at the abbey. Although I remember Maddy once telling me an old saying; that ”Home is where the heart is”, and both my family and the Abbey hold a special place in my heart, so I suppose they’re both homes to me.
Can you sing or dance? Would you do so in front of others?
I like singing! Mummy says that I sing really well, and sometimes I sing at feasts and things. I don’t know about dancing though. I like dancing whenever everybeast is dancing too, but I don’t know if I’m really good or not.
I still sing quite often, usually for festivals and special occasions with the family. Some things never change eh? Garron says he likes my voice, says it’s soothing, although that might just be his attempt to get out of trouble by flattering me. Dancing is only when everybeast is up for a jig or a reel, but I still find it enjoyable to kick the ol’ footpaws up.
Is appearance, yours or others’, important to you?
I dunno about others, but I like being pretty sometimes. I mean, when we’re at a feast and I’m definitely not doing any DAB things, then I like wearing my nice dress. When we’re doing DAB things though, I know I’m probably gonna get dirty or messy, so I don’t really mind how I look then. I don’t like it when I’m dressed nice and get dirty though. Mum likes to help me dress nice for feasts, and she always looks really pretty too. Aunty Holly says she doesn't do that sort of thing whenever she's around for feast days, but I've seen her trying to braid in one of mum's flower decorations when she thought nobeast was looking.
Sadly, being a part of a warrior clan means you often have to forgo dressing yourself up. Nevertheless I still relish the occasional opportunities I get to do a little more for myself. I suppose there’s the other aspect of our clan life which requires a professional and serious look if there’s any trouble in the area, but even then I still sometimes twine a small flower into my headfur, just for the sake of it. I sometimes do the same to Garron when he’s not paying attention, and I must say he looks like the prettiest maid there ever was with a flower crown on his head.
Do you consider yourself a leader?
Not really. Burfle is always the one who comes up with plans and things. I tend to just stick around and see what’s going on. Whatever it is, it’s always interesting though!
I’m still not much of a leader, but that’s mostly because I’ve never really had the opportunity to command much other than being nominally in charge of such small operations that a leader is hardly necessary.
What is your favorite season? Favorite sort of weather?
I really like the autumn, because we play outside in the leaves, and then we also have really nice meals in cavern hole around the fires when it’s cold enough. I like it when it’s sunny, but I also like rainy days too, ‘cause I think it’s nice when the rain is washing all over you, although my mum always worries that I’ll catch a cold. Maddy and Burfle don’t like the rain as much as me, maybe it’s because I’m an otter and we like water more?
I don’t really have much more to say about this. Autumn leaves are always so beautiful to look at, like fire spiralling about in the wind. As for weather, rainy days are still the best, despite what my old friends may say against it.
If you could be a different species of creature, which would it be? Why would you choose that one, and why would or wouldn't you change?
Hmmm…I always wonder what it’s like to be a squirrel. Burfle always seems to have tons of fun when he’s climbing trees and things…Then again, he can’t swim that well, because of his tail y’see. I don’t think I could live without swimming. I also like the hare ears, they always seem so funny and floppy, but then again hares always speak funny.
Maybe I’ll just stay as an otter…
Swimming is an absolute must for me, and I don’t think I’d give it up for the world. I suppose it’d be interesting to see life from a bird’s point of view though. It must feel really freeing to be able to fly above everybeast else and see the world from up above, like you were swimming in the sky.

OOC: Legend borrowed somewhat from Burfle: Italics for Dibbun's response, normal text for (young-ish) adult response; if there is no italicized response assume the answer doesn't really change from Dibbunhood to adulthood (It feels like the answers are short, but it also feels as though anything further would be rambling or chatty, which Arissae isn't. Maybe I'm just not so imaginative.)
Who is your family? You probably know my little sister, Neera. She lives at the Abbey, too. And then there's Mother. She's off being a hero and hunting down vermin. *She lifts her chin, as if daring anyone to say otherwise.*
Where do you call home? I live here at the Abbey. Where else 'm I going to call home?
Mossflower Woods. I figure that kind of includes the Abbey, too. I don't really have one specific place--no drey, no Abbey bed. Home is where I lay my head at night, I guess.
Can you sing or dance? Would you do so in front of others? I like to dance. I don't mind if other people are there. I've danced at feasts, alone, if people asked to see me. But I'm not, like, a performer... *She lifts one shoulder, flicking her tail.*
Is appearance, yours or others', important to you? The Brothers and Sisters are always saying that "real beauty comes from the inside" and that "fancy clothes or pretty fur don't mean anything that matters". *recited dutifully* And "we should keep clean because that's better for us".
I know what it's like out in the woods. Clothes get torn, mud gets on your paws, dust gets in your fur--nobody stays too pretty outside of the Abbey for long. Still, that doesn't mean I don't like looking at handsome things if I can. Or looking pretty, myself. *She turns her head aside, flicking her ears and tail. If her fur didn't hide it, you might notice a tinge of pink on her cheeks.*
Are you a risk taker? It depends on what the risk is for. I don't like risk just for risk, you know. There are other things that make your heart beat fast, too.
Do you consider yourself a leader? I don't think so, no. *She shakes her head.* Nobody really listens to me. I'm not... c'mmanding or anything.
I wouldn't say so. I insist on people listening to me if I'm taking them somewhere in the woods, but I'm not charismatic, I'm not wise, I'm not even the best fighter.
What annoys you or makes you angry? People I care about being stupid. Badness. Vermin, 'specially foxes. *She wrinkles one side of her nose in a sneer for a moment, her eyes narrowed.* And instruments that are out of tune.
What are you the most proud of? I'm proud of what I can do. I can run. I know about plants. People tell me I can dance.
[In addition to the above] I can gut a fox before it knows what hit it, too, if I get the jump on one. I'm pretty proud of that. I guess I'm proud that there are others who are alive because of me. Because I've protected them, taught them how to survive. *She presses her lips together in what resembles a self-conscious half-smile.*
How do you define love? That's easy. Love is when you care about someone else and want the best for them. And it means you make whoever killed them pay, like my mother is doing.
It means you'd do anything for them, even if it makes you miserable. It means you want the best for them and don't ask them to make any sacrifices. *She stares slightly off to the side, at some point behind the interviewer, or maybe at nothing at all.*
If you could be a different species of creature, which would it be? Why would you choose that one, and why would or wouldn't you change? I'd be a badger, I think. They don't have to be afraid of anything. I'd miss climbing up in the treetops, though.

Great, Arissae. I'm enjoying getting to know your character. Some of the changes from Dibbun to adults show a lot about her character (er, pun not intended). You've got some great funny moments, too. I've added the Interviewee and Celebrity badges to your profile, since you've earned both of them.

Some more questions for Madrigal. Adult.
What do you do if/when you have a free day? A free day? There's not usually such a thing for me. It seems as if there's always somebeast who wishes to browse the library for some particular scroll or other, although the library isn't exactly flooded every day with prospective scholars. My usual working day is fairly relaxed, so I never feel particularly worn out. A nice quiet day with some tea, and a little re-organisation of the library. Actually, that's been one of my major tasks recently. I've finally convinced our stubborn gatekeeper to let me catalogue all of the scrolls that had been left in the gatehouse. We're still moving batches of them over each day for me to sort. No free days in sight, but I like my work.
Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert? Oh I am most certainly an introvert. Here in the quiet of the library I feel a little more secure in myself. It's not as if I am some sort of reclusive hermit, but after mealtimes I'll often prefer to retire back here than loiter around the kitchens or suchlike. Other times I like to sit on my own on the grass of the grounds when I've felt the need to get out of the library. I am social, so don't give me that look. I'll sometimes join my good friend Aqua in the infirmary or on the walltop, and we'll have a nice chat about things. I'm also not adverse to the large gatherings like the grand feasts we have each nameday, such fun as they are, but I can't deny that I feel a little drained after the occasion.
What are your talents? Cataloguing. No, just my little joke. I suppose that I'm quite good at sketches and drawings. I've done a couple of them when I've been out on the walltop with Aqua, pictures of the belltower, the abbeyfront, the pond, and even a hasty one of Aqua while she was busy with little Corin. I have a couple of them collected on that table over there, along with some precious art some of the dibbuns made when they were trying to join in with one of my drawing sessions. I think I have a bit of a talent for storytelling too. More than once I've been asked to read for the dibbuns, and any who care to listen in. Strangely enough, I find it more enjoyable to talk in front of so many when I'm reading a story, losing myself a little in the characters and the wonderful immersion you can see in the young ones expressions.
What is your favorite season? Favorite sort of weather? I do like the turn of spring to summer. I enjoy the warmer temperature and the sunshine, and the life that blooms in the abbey. It really makes you feel alive. That and there's less chance of being ambushed by an army of dibbuns with snowballs.
What is your strongest desire? I suppose my strongest desire is to be happy, and I think that's going very well for me at the moment. There might be a couple of things that would make life even happier *A short moment of reflection with a small, yet wistful smile forming one her face.* But perhaps those might come with time.
How do you define love? Well...um. I suppose love is where you care for a person with all of your being, and would do anything for them to be happy and well. Love for your family and love for your friends... I suppose romantic love is slightly different? like the others, but when you are together with them you feel like...like home. And when you're apart you feel like a home that has been stretched out, still connected but being pulled...perhaps we could just say that it's a complicated thing to define? I'm sure everyone would have a different answer, you'd probably find thousands of them in all of these scrolls. *A little flustered now, seeming eager to move on to another question.*
If you could meet one creature from the history of Mossflower or elsewhere, who would it be and why? I suppose Abbess Germaine. From what I have read she seemed a very wise mouse, and I would be interested in finding out more about Loamhedge abbey from the very mouth of it's last abbess.

Post by Aurelias & Vernados on Sept 7, 2016 16:15:15 GMT -5
OOC: This whole post will be Vernados as an Elder. IC: What is your most vivid dibbun memory?
The most vivid memory, of all, not just as a dibbun, was definitely when I had to leave Salamandastron. That day, I felt so many jumbled emotions, excited, depressed, nervous, mirthful, and it goes on. Leaving my parents and Marion was really hard on me, though I was really getting excited about the great things I had heard about Redwall Abbey. If you were trapped on an desert island, what would you want with you?Oh wow, that's a stumper. I would probably bring a dibbun, preferably the most responsible one to keep me company, then again, I wouldn't have water in a desert, huh. *Thinks about it for another twenty minutes.* I would probably just stick with company, as for there are some, but very little sources for food and water.... *Goes on to think about it for another hour.* You know what, I am done with this question, it's to hard okay?! OOC: If it is hard to understand, I am trying to make it so it seems like Vernados is completely overthinking question. BIC: What is your favorite thing to do?Spoiling dibbu... *Abbot walks by. Vernados immediately shuts up, then continues.* Oh um, well, I do love being with the little 'uns y'know? They are quite fun to play and talk to, pretending to have a tea party and that sort. It makes me wish I had more beasts to play with when I was little! Also, giving them one treat, and your their favorite beast. Only problem with them, is calling me "nunky nados" instead of my name, but oh well, dibbuns are dibbuns I guess. What makes you laugh and smile?Again, dibbuns. Their antics, running about smiling wildly, and almost always having fun, except for baths and bedtime of course, they just makes me smile. Crawling about, always asking me to tell a story, then when I tell a story, they always get confused and argue about what happens, the little rascals, dealing with them is frustrating, but there reaction to me dealing with them, is hilarity to no end. How do you relax? My ideal idea for relaxation is sitting down underneath an orchard tree, eating our great hedgehog's Cheese and Onion Hogbake, while reading a good book. Most of the time, this relaxation doesn't last long though, because once the dibbuns spot me, chaos occurs, and I can't relax in chaos! Who is your family? My family consists of, my father Mandaquil, who rules Salamandastron alongside with my mother Valithe, and then there is my sister Marion. I also like to consider everybeast at Redwall my family, after all, we treat each other just like family! My parents get along very well, almost never arguing with each other, and Marion is a great twin sister to me, at the same time being a great battling partner! Is appearance, yours or others', important to you?Not at all, appearance shouldn't matter to anybody in my opinion. What I am about to say, is something probably a lot of beasts say, but it is true, your outside doesn't matter, what matters is your inside. I agree with that, because if I look like a half dead Wearet with most of my fur burnt off, I can still be nice and kind to everybeast! How do you define good?Oh, ummmm.... *Scratches his head.* Well, I guess good means, well... huh... errmmm... UGH! Nunky Nados, muvver Abbess say you da most smartest beast in da Abbey, why are you do you look so confused h'if you smart?
*Vernados turns to see a dibbun staring at him, and walks off with holding the dibbuns hand talking in a hushed voice. Vernados walks back with a face of injured dignity, sits down, and sighs loudly.* Ugh... *Then rips up a nearby paper.* Being good, means not bad right? Well then how do you define bad/evil then?
*Stomps of, causing a commotion, then a few minutes later returns.* Ok. I found the definition of good: "to be desired or approved of." Done. Are you happy now? What causes you stress?
The questions you just asked me, or just questions that are confoundedly annoying of some sort. Anyway, besides that, I would say nothing really causes me stress, except when I hear somebeast I know and loved, or was an Abbeybeast got hurt. I hate hearing bad news about somebeast getting injured, it worries me so bad that I normally faint. I was horrified when Aurelias told me about one of the dibbuns fell into a barrel of Dandelion Cordial, who knows, the dibbun could of drowned!. IT ISN'T FUNNY AURELIAS, I SEE YOU GIGGLING! What are you most proud of?Well, I guess... *Vernados stalks off again, then comes back with wet paws.* I am proud of staying alive I guess... but really, I am proud of how I have such ease with the dibbuns, because everybeast else thinks doing anything with the dibbuns is really a trouble, but in my opinion, it's great fun!
